Recently, many people have certainly been informed of the extra-ordinary news about the adventure of Marill Garnreiter, who attributed a series of her symptoms to stress, but ChatGTP diagnosed a year before the doctors that she was suffering from an aggressive form of cancer!
Obviously, the power of the news lies in the fact that it reinforces the sense of the rapid development of Artificial Intelligence in terms of its ability to contribute to important areas in a way that is equally effective and faster than humans.
However, if we want to see the bigger picture, it is worth focusing on the fact that the prospects of AI seem unlimited and open a future with possibilities that exceed the limits of human imagination. At the same time, however, the issue of the regulatory framework, the need for which is growing in parallel with the development of the corresponding tools, is also raised.
Especially in sensitive sectors such as health, the development of AI capabilities makes it increasingly urgent to formulate and implement a framework that will ensure that the use of AI tools will comply with minimum principles of protection of both human dignity and medical science and research and development.
The EU has already moved in this direction, but it is now necessary for the procedures to be accelerated and the framework to be formulated as soon as possible.
